Boring Lesbian Party? Try Spin the Bottle!

My friends and girlfriend are probably going to kill me for sharing this story, but they can't say I didn't warn them. I almost always tell my friends the disclaimer, "I'm a blogger, be forewarned, I could blog about you." Most of them just laugh and say something along the lines of, "Oh honey, my life isn't that interesting..." until they're reading about themselves the next day on the internet.

My girlfriend and I recently went to the home of another lesbian couple we are friends with. It started off as any other normal double date: beer, pizza and an enjoyable showing of 'Mean Girls'. About an hour into the movie, the beers turned into frozen margaritas and the pizza was gone. After the movie ended, the only logical thing to do was start up a game of cards and continue drinking as any normal person would on a Saturday evening. We started with F**k the Dealer and continued on to Kings (or Circle of Death depending on what part of the country you're in).

When the margarita mix ran out, we decided that it would be a good idea to take straight shots of tequila (or Takillya, as we lovingly referred to it the next day). When the card games got old (they always do), but we weren't quite ready to call it a night, I came up with the brilliant idea to play spin the bottle.

As I sat there in my tequila-induced haze, I began to contemplate how Spin the Bottle must have been invented by gay people. If you think about it, when you get a group of lesbians together (or gay men, for that matter) to play spin the bottle, EVERYONE gets to participate with EVERYONE else. If you have a group of straight people, you're options of who you can kiss are already limited from the get-go (unless both men and women are extremely open-minded, but I have yet to experience that - not even back in my college days when copious amounts of alcohol were involved).

Needless to say, spin the bottle ended up being the perfect antidote to an otherwise quiet Saturday night. Hell, we even mixed it up a bit by throwing some body shots into the equation and let me tell you Spin the Bottle + Body Shots = FUN! As you can see by the picture (at left), we had a great time (and that's not even my girlfriend but don't worry, she was on the other couch). Just make sure everyone that is partaking feels comfortable, because you never want to force anyone to do something they don't want to.

Anyway, the moral of this relatively short (but fun!) story is that with gay spin the bottle, everyone wins! So the next time you're at a gay or lesbian gathering of friends, and you've run out of fun things to do, grab that empty Michelob Ultra bottle, gather up the gang and get your kisses on. Spin the Bottle is one game where everybody wins!!

Don't know how to play? Here is a short How To video with explicit instructions on how to play:

Sounds like you had a great time… Arent those body shots something?

And I understand what you are saying about the friends and families of bloggers feeling that we abuse them in the name of a good article; as the Resident Sexpert here I wanted to do a story about the sex swing Debbie and I have, posting pictures of the different positions available to the users of said sex swing, but when I asked Debbie to be the model she took the card out of my camera and told me that I could only have it back after I forgot about the whole idea, adding that she is a person of some standing and was not going to have pictures of her in a sex swing in her underwear posted all over the internet… But she can be so unreasonable like that sometimes.
